Based on a slip of the short one's tongue...we proudly present:
Boston Nachos
dundundunduuuuunnnn
What are Boston Nachos? A completely new creation that we made for the first time today, to commemorate the appearance of the Charles W. Morgan on
This Old House (currently filming in Boston.)
So, you want to make your own Boston Nachos. How do you do it? Well, first you gather all your ingredients:
(Disregard the apple. That would just be gross.)
You'll need:
Potato Chips
Baked Beans
Hot Dogs
American Cheese Food Slices
Egg Salad
In an oven safe bowl or plate, place a layer of potato chips:
Make sure your chips have ridges. For stability. And also because they're nummier.
Next, to each plate add three American cheese food slices:
American Cheese Food. Yum.
Put the plates on a baking sheet, and place in a 350 degree oven for five minutes or until melted:
Glowing cheese is the best cheese.
Meanwhile, slice the hot dogs and combine with the baked beans in a saucepan, heat until warm:
Beenie weenies. A classic taste sensation.
After the cheese slices have melted, take the plates out of the oven:
Perfectly gooey!
Now ladle the beenie weenie mixture over the chips and cheese:
Pour it on - don't skimp!
Top with heaping spoonfuls of egg salad:
The only thing better might have been a deviled egg. Maybe next time...
And you're ready to serve!
It's insanity on a plate. Delicious, delicious insanity.
If you have one, you can make your child taste it first:
The perfect test subject!
If she can stop giggling, that is!
And the final judgement?
Two thumbs up from our lovely assistant!!
It's really quite good - like a picnic piled on itself and warmed through. Although we do recommend forks for the bottom-most chips. It does get a bit soggy down there.
Bon Appétit!
